The Sunnah is the way of Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam, the life of Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam, the method of Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam, and the path of Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam.
Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam was sent by Allāh ta'ālā as an example for all who are to come until the day of Qiyāmah. From this we can understand how perfect, complete and comprehensive his life was. The life of Rasūlullāh sallallāhu 'alayhi wasallam is the criterion for haq (truth), and it is used to differentiate between haq and bātil (falsehood): what is in the Sunnah is haq; what is not is bātil.
